Lincoln 9, Hoover 2--Coleman Meshack (2-1) pitched a three-hitter and struck out eight to lead Lincoln (8-11, 2-3). Kelvin Bynes was two for three, including a three-run homer, and Rolando Ortiz was three for four. Hoover is 3-13, 0-5.

City Western League

USDHS 4, Kearny 1--Kevin McDonald improved to 7-0, striking out 14 and allowing five hits as the No. 4 Dons (16-3, 5-0) rolled. Chris Richards tripled and scored in the first, and Tim Linaugh hit a two-run triple in the fourth for USDHS. Kearny is 8-10-1, 2-3.

Mission Bay 22, University City 3--Mission Bay made it easy for sophomore starter Jeff Dufek (4-1) by scoring half its runs in the top of the first. Danny Gil was two for two with two walks, a two-run homer in the second and four RBIs for the No. 9 Bucs (13-6, 3-2). UC is 5-13, 1-4.

City Eastern League

Morse 8, Serra 7--Morse starter Alfred Enano tossed a four-hitter and aided his cause with two hits in two at-bats. Teammate Archie Amerson went four for four with three RBIs and two runs. Morse is 8-7, 2-3; Serra 7-12, 2-3.

City Harbor League

St. Augustine 9, Clairemont 0--With a two-hitter, Marco Inzunza continued his hot streak on the mound for No. 7 St. Augustine (18-2, 5-0). Inzunza has allowed only one run in his last 21 innings and three walks in his last 38 innings. His battery mate Paul Hernandez provided the offense, going two for two with three RBIs and a steal of home. Clairemont is 6-12-1, 1-4.

Coronado 7, Christian 5--Kevin Ward and Russell Mize hit home runs to support Islander pitcher Guy Murray, who improved to 7-3 with a four-hitter. Murray allowed two earned runs, striking out five as Coronado improved to 11-7, 4-1. The Patriots are 1-13, 0-5.

Metro Conference

Montgomery 6, Sweetwater 2--Eduardo Duarte’s bases-loaded infield single in the 11th inning drove in the winning run, then Montgomery padded its lead with three unearned runs. Not that the second-ranked Aztecs (17-3, 8-0) needed much padding. Sophomore right-hander Oscar Robles, who entered after the tying run had come across in the bottom of the seventh, retired all 13 batters he faced to improve to 5-2. Sweetwater had only two hits and trailed 2-0 until Johno Ortega singled in Luis Cuevas in the bottom of the sixth. The Red Devils tied it in the seventh on a double by Art Millan and a single by Cuevas.

Chula Vista 11, Southwest 1--First baseman Jacob Sanchez hit a three-run homer and tripled for Chula Vista (7-10, 1-7). Albert Mendivil went three for four with two RBIs, including a triple. Octavio Jara was three for four with a triple and a double with an RBI, and Tony Casazza went two for four with three RBIs.

Castle Park 10, Hilltop 9--Castle Park rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, the third coming on an overthrow allowing Jason Guerrero to score the winning run. Moments earlier, Guerrero had singled to drive in two runs. Alex Ruvalcaba was three for five with two RBIs and Kiko Palacios one for two with two walks and two RBIs for the Trojans (13-8, 4-3). Richie Hinzo was three for five with a two-run homer for Hilltop (9-9, 3-4).

Coastal League

Francis Parker 8, Santa Fe Christian 1--Dwayne Carey went three for four with two RBIs and two stolen bases and Devlin Millay was two for four with three RBIs to lead Francis Parker (8-5, 5-1).

LJCD 2, Army-Navy 0--Winner Billy Neyswender (2-1) struck out eight.
