THE NATIONAL LAMPOON PRESENTS MORE TRUE FACTS...

THE NATIONAL LAMPOON PRESENTS MORE TRUE FACTS compiled by John Bendel (Contemporary Books: $7.95). This new anthology contains more improbable signs (a theater marquee announcing “Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Dying Young”), newspaper headlines with double entendres (“Ryan gets OK to kill religious school boards”) and improbable wedding announcements (Hayre-Combs, Paul-Newman), etc. The uncredited, tongue-in-cheek commentary adds to the general absurdity. “More True Facts” lacks the careful organization of the previous anthology: The entries just seem to have been thrown together no particular order. But the lack of structure doesn’t prevent the book from being very, very funny.
