IRS Test: The Orange County chapter of the California Society of Enrolled Agents is offering courses and scholarships to help prospective tax specialists pass an Internal Revenue Service exam in September.
Students who pass the two-day exam are certified as enrolled agents and can represent their clients before the IRS. Although less than one-third of the people who take the test pass, students who take the preparatory courses do better than the average, according to society officials.
Scholarship applications are available by writing to Vicki L. Mulak, 2852 Walnut Ave., Suite F, Tustin, 92680. Applications are due May 31.
