Long Beach : Jan Hall Mayoral Campaign Fine Increased to $6,000
- Share via
A fine levied against former Long Beach Councilwoman Jan C. Hall’s campaign committee was recently increased to $6,000 by the State Fair Political Practices Commission.
Hall had agreed to pay a $4,000 fine to settle a complaint stemming from her 1988 bid for the Long Beach mayor’s post. But the commission, rejecting the recommendation of its staff, concluded that Hall should be fined $6,000.
The violation involved four campaign mailings that failed to note on the outside of the envelope that they were sent by Hall’s campaign.
