Stock car racer Davey Allison has been cleared by doctors to attempt to qualify for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, N.C. Allison suffered a bruised left ankle and knee in a crash following his victory in Saturday’s Winston NASCAR all-star race.
If Allison wins the Coca-Cola 600 or the Southern 500 on Labor Day weekend in Darlington, S.C., he will win a $1 million bonus, following his victories at Daytona Beach, Fla., and Talladega, Ala.
