Seven 1992-93 Town Council members and seven alternates were elected from a record field of 22 candidates during Altadena’s Old Fashioned Days celebration Saturday.

Robert Klomburg, a member of the election committee, said 1,174 residents cast ballots, nearly twice as many as in last year’s election.

The volunteer council, which advises the Board of Supervisors on matters concerning the unincorporated area, has two members and one alternate for each of seven census tracts.

In the annual election, the first-place finisher in each tract wins a two-year term and the runner-up becomes an alternate for one year.

This year’s winners were:

* Tract 4602: Charlotte E. Forte-Taylor, 109 and Saleem Samia, alternate, 68, out of 260 votes.

* Tract 4603: Cue MacKenzie, 200, and Elenor L. Hodson, alternate, 96, out of 296 votes.

* Tract 4610: Willard H. Scott, 26, and Porter Swayne Jr., alternate, 17, out of 50 votes.

* Tract 4611: Jan Rodriguez, 93, and William Caulfield, alternate, 34, out of 137 votes.

* Tract 4613: Nancy J. Manchee, 26, and James C. Iamurri, alternate, 11, out of 37 votes.

The newly elected Town Council will be installed in July, after which a new Executive Committee will be chosen.
