BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Murphy Out 4 to 6 Weeks After Surgery

Dale Murphy of the Philadelphia Phillies will be sidelined four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in Atlanta.
Dr. Joseph Chandler performed the 90-minute procedure and gave the prognosis on Murphy.
Chandler performed a less extensive arthroscopic procedure on Murphy’s left knee last November.
“It looked surprisingly good,” Chandler said, but he added that he was surprised the knee had deteriorated so much in such a short time.
