LANCASTER : Man, 18, Arrested in Stabbing Death

An 18-year-old Lancaster man was arrested in the stabbing death of a 41-year-old Lancaster man, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

Joseph M. Curlin was arrested at a friend’s house in Lancaster about 6 p.m. Wednesday night, Deputy Bill Martin said.

Curlin was being held without bail at Antelope Valley Jail on suspicion of murder in the May 22 stabbing death of Gary Allen Bailey, deputies said .

“The motive for the stabbing is still not known,” said Martin, who declined to release further details.

The stabbing occurred in the 700 block of West Milling Street, he said. Bailey died later at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center.
