Santa Ana Valley High recently dedicated its baseball field as “Herschel Musick Field” for its baseball coach, who started the school’s program in 1959.
Musick is retiring after 35 years of teaching in the Santa Ana Unified School District but is expected to remain as baseball coach.
“We’re losing Herschel as a teacher, but we expect him back at least one more season as our baseball coach,” Santa Ana Valley Athletic Director Larry Arason said.
