Giorgio Furlan of Italy virtually clinched the Tour of Switzerland and Roberto Pagnin of Italy won the ninth leg of the race, which ended in Laax. World champion Gianni Bugno of Italy failed to challenge Furlan in the 96-mile stage and is 31 seconds behind in second place with one stage left. American Greg LeMond is fourth.
