The Los Angeles Unified School District is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who set a fire that damaged 20 classrooms at Sun Valley Junior High School last week, officials said Monday.

The June 21 blaze caused an estimated $350,000 in damage to the Sun Valley campus. In addition to the damaged classrooms--five of which will have to be completely rebuilt--several offices in the school’s administration building were seriously damaged.

District police have begun distributing flyers in English and Spanish announcing the reward and encouraging witnesses to come forward, district spokesman Shel Erlich said.
