LA MESA : Elderly Stabbing Victim Identified
An elderly La Mesa woman found slain in her house Saturday has been identified as Shirley Hulmes, the San Diego County medical examiner’s office said. Hulmes, 73, was stabbed to death, officials said.
Police found Hulmes after a worried friend telephoned them to say she had not heard from the woman for several days. Police said Hulmes was stabbed while in her bedroom.
There were no signs of sexual assault or forced entry into the house, police said. La Mesa investigators are trying to contact Hulmes’ son, police said.
