Paez to Fight Smith in Lightweight Bout

Jorge Paez of Mexico will fight Mark Smith of Tennessee in a 10-round lightweight bout at the Forum at 7 tonight.

Paez, 39-4-4 with 22 knockouts, is ranked No.2 by the World Boxing Council and is making his first appearance at the Forum since 1989. Smith is 16-7 with eight knockouts.

Also on the card will be Louie Espinosa of Phoenix (44-5-2), the United States Boxing Assn. champion, and Edward Parker of Houston (21-10-5) in a 10-round featherweight bout.

A third 10-round bout will match heavyweights Dave Dixon of Los Angeles (11-2) and Larry Davis of Houston (12-5).
