To attract more elite runners, $250,000 will be awarded to anyone breaking the world record in November’s New York City Marathon, promoters announced. The men’s record of 2:06:50 is held by Ethiopia’s Belayneh Densimo. The women’s record, 2:21:06, is held by Norway’s Ingrid Kristiansen.
