Mike Aulby flirted with perfection en route to winning the $125,000 Professional Bowlers Assn. tournament at Green Bay, Wis.
Aulby rolled 10 consecutive strikes to start the title match against Bill Oakes. A 9-pin in the 11th frame kept Aulby from becoming the seventh player in PBA history to roll a perfect game on national television. Aulby finished with a 289 score to Oakes’ 172.
