David Warady, a 35-year-old computer programmer from Huntington Beach, won the Trans America Footrace, the first coast-to-coast event of its kind in more than 60 years.
Warady covered the distance of more than 3,000 miles in the California-to-New York event in 521 hours 35 minutes 57 seconds. He finished the race in Central Park, winning by 5:40:24 over Milan Milanovic of Switzerland.
