The Trojans reached the semifinals of the Southern Section Division VI playoffs last year, but just getting to the playoffs will be a chore this time. Three returning starters moved out of the area. A fourth, wide receiver Riley Breckenridge, suffered a severe knee injury and will not play this season. What’s left is Burke and Peake and a lot of unknowns. “Everything is wide open right now,” Cunningham said. “But the kids have a great attitude, that’s our strength right now.” Peake did complete 50% of his passes for more than 900 yards and eight touchdowns last season. But he will be under a lot more pressure to produce and has an inexperienced line in front of him. “Chris is up to the challenge,” Cunningham said. Foster could be a sleeper. He spent most of last season on the bench because of the Trojans’ depth in the backfield. But Todd Anderson, Jerry Apana and Sammy Hunt graduated, leaving Foster to carry the load. Cunningham is also high on Wei, who was the team’s nickel back a year ago. The rest of the team is of unknown quality. “Basically, we’re going to wait and see with this team,” Cunningham said.
