A man who detectives described as an Iranian national with ties to the Iranian mafia was arrested in Thousand Oaks on suspicion of possessing four pounds of cocaine with a street value of $200,000, officials said.
Ventura County sheriff’s detectives arrested Manoochehr Yousefi near the corner of Moorpark Road and Rolling Oaks Drive Thursday afternoon, concluding a five-month investigation into his activities.
Yousefi, 37, who resides in Northridge, is suspected of selling cocaine throughout the United States and Canada, said Sgt. Gary Pentis. He was under surveillance when arrested, Pentis said.
Yousefi claimed to be a bodyguard for the former Shah of Iran, but detectives said he is believed to be a prominent figure in the Iranian mafia.
