Belmont’s Flower Bowl Is Won by Christiecat
Christiecat edged Ratings by 1 1/4 lengths in the $200,000 Flower Bowl Handicap for fillies and mares at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Ridden by Jean Luc-Samyn, Christiecat stalked the pace for a mile before drawing clear, covering 1 1/4 miles on the inner turf course in 2:01. Coming off of a sixth-place finish in the Diana Handicap at Saratoga, Christiecat scored her second victory this year to earn $120,000 for owner Fox Ridge Farm.
Christiecat paid $11.20, 4.40 and 3.00. Ratings, part of an entry with Ristna, returned $3.00 and $2.40. Plenty Of Grace, who finished 4 1/2 lengths back, paid $3.40.
