Bollwinkel Leaves Pomona to Be Assistant at Dayton
- Share via
Dave Bollwinkel, who coached Cal Poly Pomona to its first consecutive 15-victory seasons in basketball in 25 years and in 1991 was named California Collegiate Athletic Assn. coach of the year, resigned to become an assistant coach at Dayton.
The Broncos were 58-70 under Bollwinkel, but went from sub-.500 records his first three seasons to 15-14 and 15-13 the last two. That earned them consecutive trips to the CCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
No replacement was named at Pomona.
