SAN DIEGO : Bicycle Rider Dies When Hit by Van
A bicyclist was killed when he ran a stop sign and was hit by a van making a left turn, a police spokesman said Monday.
Todd Thomas May, 32, of San Diego, was riding east on Grove Avenue at 8:10 p.m. Sunday and was thrown from his bicycle on impact when struck by a van turning from 15th Street, the San Diego Police Department spokesman said.
May, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered major head and body trauma, and died at UC San Diego Medical Center at 10:18 p.m., officials said.
