CHATSWORTH : Browns Canyon Fire Scorches 10 Acres

A brush fire in the Browns Canyon area of Chatsworth scorched 10 acres but did not threaten homes or cause injuries, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said Monday.
The blaze broke out about 10:20 p.m. Sunday near the Simi Valley Freeway and DeSoto Avenue and consumed about three acres within five minutes, county firefighters said.
The fire was contained by about 11:45 p.m. after units from Los Angeles City and County fire departments sent engine companies and bulldozers.
The Ventura County Fire Department also sent five crews of firefighters.
