Glendale : Helicopter Maintenance
The City Council on Tuesday approved an agreement with Burbank to share mechanics for the two cities’ police helicopter fleets, both based at Burbank Airport.
The cities have one mechanic each and the two often work together on maintenance chores, officials said. The agreement formally endorses the practice and is the first step in a proposal to eventually merge the helicopter units into a single operation.
Officials said a joint air support program could speed response time to calls and provide greater efficiency of operation.
