Torrey Pines’ Lynch Should Be Accountable

It is understandable that Torrey Pines High School quarterback Ryan Lynch and his father were unhappy about the game suspension. However, if Ryan violated a conduct rule on the football field, he should be held accountable for his actions.

It’s a sorry day when a parent uses his money and influence to prevent his child from acting in a responsible manner. Ryan has been deprived of the opportunity to learn that choosing to break the rules often results in unpleasant consequences; instead Ryan has learned that because his daddy is important and wealthy he is exempt from the rules.

Mr. Lynch and any other adults who participated in this situation, including any TPHS staff members, should be ashamed of themselves. As role models, they are sadly lacking.
