Milan Panic’s Leadership

Share

In response to your interview of Milan Panic, Opinion, Oct. 4:

Bravo! Milan Panic is certainly a man of his word. Times reporter Robert Scheer asked just the right probing questions to delve into Panic’s innermost thoughts. Panic stated that he was working on establishing normal relations with other “former Yugoslav” countries and plans for a corridor linking Serbia to Croatia. And in addition to these admirable goals by this honest, American-made man, he proposes that “borders fall within 3-5 years.” While Panic smiles and lies before the cameras, Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic’s war machine rages on.

With the Serbian siege and capture of the Bosnian town of Bosanski Brod (Oct. 6), Panic has achieved his goals earlier than expected. The capture of Bosanski Brod has given Serbia its treasured “greater Serbia” dream; occupied areas of Croatia linked with the 70% of occupied Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is further linked to Serbia. As the Serbs themselves say, they are now “invincible.” What Panic failed to mention in the interview was the fact that his “corridor” and “open borders” would be by force. His plans for establishing a “normal relationship” is no different now than it was during Serbian-controlled, communist Yugoslavia; it is simply by subjugation.

Is this how the world let Hitler get away with the genocide? How much longer will we tolerate Panic and his “good guy/bad guy” routine with Milosevic played out in a well-orchestrated charade for all the world to see?
