David Harris Cohen; Associate Curator at Getty Museum

David Harris Cohen, 43, an associate curator of the J. Paul Getty Museum and an authority on French decorative arts of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. A native of New York, Cohen came to Los Angeles after working in the Department of Western European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He came to the Getty in 1982 as a visiting scholar in the Department of Decorative Arts, then became its head of photo archives. Since 1987 he has been associate curator of the Department of Decorative Arts. Among his publications is a new catalogue of European clocks at the Getty.
