PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Knox: Celebration Is Over

Share

Coach Chuck Knox called Sunday’s victory in Dallas “the best football game we’ve played this year,” and he was a participant in the celebration. He has officially declared that the party is over, however, and it’s back to the work as the Rams prepare to play the San Francisco 49ers.

“It was an important game because we haven’t won on the road in a long time, and we were playing a team that had the best won-loss record in the National Football League,” Knox said. “And more important, it was how we played. We had two penalties, we had the ball for seven minutes more, we didn’t have a turnover offensively and defensively, we toughened up against the run.

“So there were a lot of good things that happened in the football game. We enjoyed it Sunday night, had a nice plane ride back and we enjoyed it when we looked at the film. But now we’ve got to spit it out and get ready for another ballgame. That’s what you do in this business.”

Fullback Robert Delpino is expected to test his strained left knee in practice today. He experienced some soreness in the knee after working out last week.

“We’ll just have to wait and see how he is,” Knox said. “He practiced last Wednesday. Then the knee was bothering him, and that was the end of that for the week.”
