NORTH HILLS : Death of Beaten Woman Investigated
Los Angeles police on Monday were investigating the death of a Newhall woman who was found brutally beaten in front of a North Hills apartment complex last week.
Lisa Marie Stancati, 22, died of her injuries Friday, police said. She had been found two days earlier at 6:15 a.m. lying unconscious in a driveway in front of an apartment complex in the 8900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard.
Lt. Kyle Jackson said the victim had multiple cuts and bruises on her body and suffered severe trauma to her head.
Police revealed little about the investigation Monday. However, Jackson said a possible suspect had been identified but not arrested.
Jackson said investigators believe Stancati was dropped off by an acquaintance on Sepulveda a few hours before she was found beaten. Stancati was familiar with the area and was dropped off at her request after the two had a disagreement, Jackson said. He declined to discuss other details.
