Barry Lunney Jr. threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Ron Dickerson Jr. and E.D. Jackson scored 2 1/2 minutes later to blow the game open as Arkansas ended its season with a 30-6 victory over Louisiana State on Friday.

Dickerson, with his father Ron Sr., the new Temple coach, in the stands, scored with 10:29 left in the third quarter to put Arkansas on top, 16-0. Orlando Watters quickly intercepted a pass and Jackson scored on a one-yard run with 7:59 remaining.

Arkansas (3-7-1, 3-4-1 in the Southeastern Conference) won inside the state’s borders for the first time in six games. No Arkansas football team has gone through a season winless in the state. LSU (2-9, 1-7 in the SEC) didn’t get inside the Arkansas 30 until 7:18 remained in the game.

Oscar Malone, who broke a 68-yard scoring run in the final quarter, wound up with 118 yards in 12 carries and helped the Razorbacks produce a season-high 379 yards. Their previous best, against South Carolina, was 305 yards.

LSU avoided its third shutout of the season on a four-yard touchdown run by quarterback Ryan Huffman with six minutes remaining.

Arkansas started its second possession of the third quarter from its 42 and Lunney, on the run, threw to Tracy Caldwell for 16 yards. On third and nine, Lunney threw to Dickerson at the 25. Cornerback Ray Adams missed the tackle on Dickerson, who had clear sailing into the end zone.

On first down, Watters picked off Jamie Howard’s pass and the Razorbacks started from the LSU 23. On third and nine, Lunney, with lots of time, found tight end Kirk Botkin alone on the right sideline for 19 yards. Jackson scored on third down.

The temperature was 31 degrees when the game began and the crowd of 32,721 was the smallest since Razorback Stadium was expanded to 50,018 before the 1985 season.
