An Economic Development Committee formed jointly by the city and the Main Street Chamber of Commerce will have its first meeting today to discuss community-wide growth and plans for improving the downtown area.
The committee has 16 members, nine appointed by the City Council and seven by the chamber.
The committee will draw upon an Economic Development Strategy report that was completed in 1989 and is expected to work with the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission, the San Gabriel Valley Commerce and Cities Consortium and other consultants.
