Zavala Bout Tonight at Irvine Marriott
Rudy Zavala of Costa Mesa, one of the top fighters from Orange County, is featured in the main event of the monthly boxing program tonight at the Irvine Marriott.
Zavala, a junior featherweight with an 18-1-1 record, takes on Juan Soto (18-4) of El Paso, Tex. Zavala is coming off an impressive performance in late October when he knocked out Freddie Hernandez in the third round of a bout in Missoula, Mont.
The first of five bouts starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today in the grand ballroom of the hotel.
