Zavala Bout Tonight at Irvine Marriott

IRVINE — Rudy Zavala of Costa Mesa, one of the top fighters from Orange County, is featured in the main event of the monthly boxing program tonight at the Irvine Marriott.
Zavala, a junior featherweight with an 18-1-1 record, takes on Juan Soto (18-4) of El Paso, Tex. Zavala is coming off an impressive performance in late October when he knocked out Freddie Hernandez in the third round of a bout in Missoula, Mont.
The first of five bouts starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today in the grand ballroom of the hotel.
