Arches Of Gold Sets Mark for 6 1/2 Furlongs
Arches Of Gold established a track record for 6 1/2 furlongs when she won the seventh race Thursday over a Hollywood Park surface that had been sealed in anticipation of rain.
Making her first start since she broke her maiden by six lengths May 26 in her first start, the 3-year-old Strike Gold filly won by nine lengths in 1:13 4/5, breaking the track record of 1:14 2/5 set by Timebank on July 21, 1990. Eddie Delahoussaye rode and Bob Baffert trained the 4-5 favorite, who was one tick off the world record for the distance.
