COLLEGE FOOTBALL / BOWL REPORT : BLOCKBUSTER : Penn State, Stanford Players Pig Out
Penn State was a winner in one of the critical pre-Blockbuster Bowl matchups this week, when a three-man team consumed more ribs in three minutes than its counterpart from Stanford.
The final count was 108-91 in favor of the Nittany Lions. Since both teams have closed practice for this New Year’s Day game, it is only natural that details of the rout were sketchy. But, assuming that the ribs were pork--in the South it could be nothing else--and that a pig has between 12 and 16 ribs on each side, it can be figured that seven to nine pigs laid down their lives for this exercise.
