Michael Jordan hasn’t lost his shooting touch, his stamina or his drive. He’s just caught a cold.

“I think I’m coming down with a virus, so my energy level was not really high,” Jordan said Wednesday night after he went cold for the second consecutive game as the Chicago Bulls lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 117-95, at Richfield Ohio.

The Bulls lost their second game in two nights, while Cleveland won for the 11th time in 13 games.

Jordan, who scored 23 points on 10-of-22 shooting, missed his last seven shots before leaving with six minutes to play and the Bulls trailing by 19. He had missed seven of his last eight shots in Chicago’s 91-88 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday.

“I really didn’t have the legs I needed,” he said. “A lot of shots came up short.”

Scottie Pippen led the Bulls with 24 points and nine rebounds.

Mark Price made certain the Cavaliers took advantage of Jordan’s cold spell by scoring 30 points--23 in the second half. Brad Daugherty had 24 points and 12 rebounds and Price added 13 assists for the Cavaliers.

Philadelphia 132, New Jersey 106--Armon Gilliam scored 26 points as the 76ers rebounded from a 56-point loss in their previous game to rout the Nets at Philadelphia.

Clarence Weatherspoon had 23 points, Hersey Hawkins 20, Charles Shackleford, and Ron Anderson 15 apiece and Jeff Hornacek 14 for the 76ers, who were coming off a 154-98 loss to the Kings at Sacramento on Saturday night.

“It felt good to win, especially with what happened on the road,” Hawkins said. “We got out to a nice lead and continued to play well throughout the game. We did a lot of things well both on our offense and defense tonight, but our defense was a real key. It helped us get going offensively.”

For the Nets, the 30-point loss was their worst defeat of the season. New Jersey had won five of its last seven games since their previous worst defeat, a 124-110 loss at Indiana on Dec. 19.

Boston 103, Indiana 94--At Boston, Reggie Lewis scored 24 points as the Celtics won their third in a row.

Indiana, which broke a six-game losing streak by beating the Clippers on Tuesday night, lost its seventh consecutive road game.

Reggie Miller and Rik Smits led Indiana with 18 points apiece, and Pooh Richardson added 15.

Indiana, second in the NBA in rebounds, was outrebounded, 43-37. For the 11th time in 12 games, the Pacers missed more than half their shots, shooting 45% from the floor, while the Celtics shot 52%.
