BUENA PARK : Speeds Changing All Over Town

Share

Motorists will have to slow down on some city streets, but on other thoroughfares they can drive slightly faster as a result of changes in speed limits expected to go into effect in mid-February.

The City Council this week approved changes in the speed limits on local streets. Final approval of the changes is expected at the Jan. 19 council meeting and the new speed limits will become effective 30 days later.

Councilwoman Rhonda J. McCune said she was concerned about resident reaction to decreasing speed limits, but Police Chief Richard M. Tefank reassured the council that motorists will be given some leeway until they get accustomed to the lower speed limits.
