HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Balance Keys Hart’s Win Over Burbank

Five players scored in double figures as Hart High defeated Burbank, 77-67, Tuesday night in a Foothill League opener at Burbank.

Matt Steffe led the Indians (8-5) with 26 points. He was followed by David Sanders (16), Eric Spindt (14), Brandon Moore (11) and Cody Patterson (10). Mike Jonas scored 21 for Burbank (4-8).

Santa Clara 60, Santa Paula 42--Dave Varela scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds for the Saints (13-5, 2-0) in a Frontier League game.

Montclair Prep 83, Ribet Christian 52--Jerome Joseph scored 22 points and Greg Rosen had 15 points and 14 rebounds in the nonleague victory.

Campbell Hall 78, Whitney 40--Simeon Woodall had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Campbell Hall (6-8, 2-1) in a Delphic League game.

GIRLS

Thousand Oaks 64, Agoura 34--The undefeated Lancers rolled to their 16th consecutive win and fourth Marmonte League victory behind the play of Melissa Wood (20 points) at Agoura.

Hart 57, Burbank 28--LaCresha Clark scored 19 points and had eight rebounds for Hart (10-5) in a Foothill League opener.

Nordhoff 73, Calabasas 48--Rachel McSorley had 20 points and six assists to lead Nordhoff (14-0, 2-0) in the Frontier League game.

Notre Dame 44, Harvard-Westlake 36--Valery Brady scored 12 points and Sharon Marciniak had 10 for visiting Notre Dame (6-8, 2-2) in a Mission League game.
