Brandon Stott, former Brethren Christian High quarterback, committed to Eastern New Mexico, an NCAA Division II school, Brethren Coach Mike Roark said Tuesday.

Stott, 6 feet 2 and 170 pounds, played the last two seasons at Mt. San Antonio College, where he was a second-team All-Northern Division selection last season. He led Brethren to a 7-4 record in 1990.

High school football players will be prohibited from wearing sticky or adhesive-covered gloves in a rules change made by the National Federation Football Rules Committee.

“It’s one thing to enhance play and quite another to give a player the ability to catch a ball he could not without using a sticky glove,” said Dick Schindler, assistant director of the National Federation and editor of high school football rules.

The 51-member committee, meeting last week in Newport Beach, also decided that any player who is bleeding, has an open wound or has blood on his uniform will be considered an injured player and must leave the game for at least one play. The player would not be allowed back until the situation is corrected.
