A robber shot and killed the 19-year-old night manager of a Porter Ranch pizza parlor, Los Angeles police said Friday.

Two men entered Ameci In & Out Pizza & Pasta restaurant at 11229 Tampa Ave. about 7:10 p.m. Thursday and ordered a pizza, Officer Ken Kuntuzos said. When night manager John Holden of Northridge opened the cash register, one of the men produced a small-caliber handgun and demanded money.

After Holden handed over an undetermined amount of cash, the gunman fired at Holden for no apparent reason.

“They went in, they demanded money and they got it,” Lt. John Dunkin said. “But then they shot the man without any provocation at all.”

Both robbers then fled.

Holden was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, authorities said.

Police released a composite drawing of the assailant Friday. He is described as an 18- to 20-year-old Latino with a heavy mustache and round face. He was wearing a blue Dallas Cowboys baseball cap, Dunkin said.
