Iowa Postpones Two Big Ten Games in Mourning the Death of Street
No. 14-ranked Iowa’s Big Ten Conference games against Northwestern on Wednesday night and Penn State on Saturday night were postponed Wednesday because of the death of Iowa forward Chris Street.
Makeup dates will be discussed with Big Ten officials next week.
Street was killed in Iowa City on Tuesday night when his car collided with a snow plow. Kimberly Vinton, Street’s girlfriend, also was in the car but managed to crawl from the wreckage. She is in stable condition at University Hospitals and Clinics.
Street, a 6-8, 220-pounder, averaged 14.5 points per game and led the Hawkeyes in rebounds with a 9.5 average.
