SYLMAR : Hazardous Waste Roundup Planned
A hazardous-waste roundup will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Los Angeles Mission College in Sylmar.
Sponsored by the Los Angeles city Bureau of Sanitation, the roundup will offer residents an opportunity to recycle or safely discard unwanted household chemicals. Hazardous waste includes unwanted paint, motor oil, pesticides, cleaners or other chemicals labeled toxic.
The service is free. For safety reasons, residents will be required to remain in their cars at the event. Walk-ins and waste generated by small businesses will not be accepted.
Mission College is at 13356 Eldridge Ave. For more information, call the Bureau of Sanitation at (213) 237-1634.
