COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Mejer Scores 36 Points, CCI Wins 13th in a Row

Gitte Mejer scored 36 points and had 13 rebounds as host Christ College Irvine beat Point Loma Nazarene, 83-61, in a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Tuesday at Christ College Irvine.

It was the 13th consecutive victory for Christ College Irvine (22-4, 8-0), ranked 25th in the NAIA Division I poll.

Stacy Kirch had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Eagles. Stacee Eggers had 25 points and 11 rebounds for Point Loma (9-16, 1-7).

In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball:

Christ College Irvine 86, Point Loma Nazarene 72--D’Andre Brown had 17 points and Brian Tollefson scored 16 Hazelwood for host Christ College Irvine (13-10, 4-4), which led 40-23 at halftime. Point Loma fell to 9-16 and 1-6.

Southern California College 66, California Baptist 62--Matt Dela Pena and Danin Bryant had 13 points each for visiting Southern California College.

In Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball:

UC Santa Barbara 3, UC Irvine 0--Chad Miller had 17 kills for visiting UC Irvine, which lost, 15-8, 15-12, 15-11. UC Santa Barbara is 8-3, 4-0.
