In other Orange Empire Conference men’s games:

Cypress 84, Riverside 72--Robbie Shelton had 38 points and 12 rebounds and Jim Falletta had 18 points as host Cypress (23-7, 8-3) moved into a second-place tie with Riverside (22-8, 8-3). Falletta had 14 in the second half. Riverside got no closer than eight in the final four minutes.

Irvine Valley 95, Orange Coast 88--Chris Kostoff scored 26 points for Irvine Valley (13-14, 4-7) at Capistrano Valley High School. Jeff Porter had 26 for Orange Coast (4-21, 1-10).

Fullerton 84, Golden West 74--Bobby Natoya had 22 points and Eddie Cochran had 18 for host Fullerton (14-15, 3-8). Josh Lewis had 23 for Golden West (11-17, 4-7).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball:

Golden West 73, Fullerton 49--Melanie Iwamasa had 30 points and nine rebounds for host Golden West (29-2, 9-0), which won its 19th consecutive game.

Saddleback 69, Rancho Santiago 57--Shelly Calhoun had 24 points for visiting Saddleback (8-13, 5-5).

Riverside 58, Cypress 56--Delilah Vergara’s 10-footer with about 50 seconds left was the game-winner for host Riverside (21-9, 6-3). Joan Maurer had 17 for Cypress (12-14, 3-7).

In the Cypress Kiwanis baseball tournament:

Cypress 14, Mt. San Jacinto 5--Kevin Clark had two doubles and three RBIs, and Keith McDonald drove had three hits, including a triple, and drove in a run for Cypress (3-1).

Golden West 5, Long Beach 4--With Golden West trailing, 4-2, Mike Moutrey hit a three-run home run to left in the bottom of the seventh to help the Rustlers (1-2).
