Canyon Country Man Shot Dead in Car
A 30-year-old Canyon Country man was shot to death Saturday as he sat in a car parked near a Northridge intersection, Los Angeles police said.
An unknown assailant walked up to a car parked on the northwest corner of Balboa and Roscoe boulevards about 2:15 p.m. and fired several shots into the car, striking Robert Escalante in the head, Officer Don Cox said. Escalante’s cousin, whose name was not released, drove him to the hospital where he later died, Cox said.
A motive for the shooting was unknown Saturday and no arrests had been made, Cox said.
