Burbank Man Held in Drowning of Mother
A Burbank man has been arrested on suspicion of drowning his 70-year-old mother, whose body was found earlier this week in her swimming pool, police said Saturday.
John Ravel, 47, was arrested Friday and is being held without bail at Los Angeles County Jail, Burbank Police Sgt. Tim Stehr said. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in Burbank Municipal Court.
Mireille Ravel was found Tuesday in the swimming pool of her home in the 3100 block of Jolley Drive. Stehr said he did not know what led police to suspect that Ravel was responsible for her death.
