Gibbs first played at Cypress two seasons ago when the Chargers, led by forward Eric Pauley, reached the semifinals of the State championships before losing to Long Beach. Pauley currently starts for Kansas.

He sat out last season for personal reasons and considered transferring, but elected to stay. He has had some up-and-down moments this season but has played very well lately and Cypress has won six in a row.

Gibbs scored 15 points, had seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals as Cypress beat Irvine Valley, 101-100, Friday to stay within one-game of first-place Saddleback. He is averaging 10 points, four rebounds and four assists and a conference-best three steals.
