COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rancho Santiago Runs Up 113 Points in Beating OCC

Seven players scored in double figures for host Rancho Santiago, which came within one point of tying the school’s single-game scoring record in a 113-84 victory over Orange Coast in an Orange Empire Conference men’s game Wednesday in Santa Ana.
Fred Amos scored 19 points and Ruben Oronoz had 18 for Rancho Santiago (19-11, 8-5 in conference). Darren Crooks scored a game-high 26 points for Orange Coast.
In other Orange Empire Conference men’s basketball games:
Irvine Valley 93, Fullerton 90--Arturo Clemente scored 20 points to lead host Irvine Valley (15-15, 5-8) at Capistrano Valley High.
Riverside 102, Golden West 91--Gerald Rhoden scored 25 points, including four three-pointers for host Golden West (12-18, 5-8). Lou Williams had 33 points for Riverside (23-9, 9-4).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball:
Cypress 52, Saddleback 47--Yolanda Hearvey had 16 points and 14 rebounds for host Cypress (13-14, 4-7). Gillian Bean had 14 points for Saddleback (9-14, 6-6).
Orange Coast 100, Rancho Santiago 36--Thirteen players scored for Orange Coast (24-5, 8-3), which had 58 points in the first half. Gebby Mendoz scored 13 points for Rancho Santiago (4-21, 0-11).
In nonconference softball:
Fullerton 9, College of the Desert 2--Lorraine Garcia had four hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs for Fullerton (4-1).
Golden West 3, San Diego Mesa 0--Marcy Rainwater tripled and scored in the sixth and Brandie Tantardini hit an RBI triple in the seventh for visiting Golden West (2-0).
Saddleback 6, Mt. San Antonio 4--Carly Girton went three for three with two runs scored, and Laura Kesterson won her seventh consecutive game for host Saddleback (8-0).
Orange Coast 7, Canyons 1--Becky Elcock went four for four with three runs and an RBI to lead Orange Coast at Canyons.
