Mononucleosis Sidelines Riehl for Soccer Playoffs

Jody Riehl, center halfback on the Royal High boys’ soccer team that won the Marmonte league championship, has signed to play for San Jose State next season but will miss the Southern Section playoffs that begin today because of mononucleosis.

Riehl began feeling ill several days ago, and his condition was diagnosed Wednesday.

Reihl who had nine goals and seven assists for the Highlanders, also was recruited by SMU.
