Try Humming It?: Singer-songwriter Harry Connick Jr. will preside as the god of wine and revelry in the Krewe of Bacchus’ 25th anniversary parade in New Orleans on Sunday, two days before Mardi Gras. Connick, who grew up in New Orleans and has won two Grammys, said, “No award in the world could mean more than this. To try to explain what it means to be king of Bacchus--you just can’t put it into words.” Bacchus has 27 floats, including a 100-foot long “Bacchgator” that carries 100 riders.
