COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Okenwa Scores 28 as Master’s Prevails, 67-59

Emeka Okenwa saved his best for last, scoring a season-best 28 points and grabbing 15 rebounds for The Master’s in a National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics 67-59 regular-season final-game victory at Fresno Pacific.

Okenwa, a 6-7 junior center who transferred to The Master’s this season, sank 11 of 17 field-goal attempts and six of eight free throws. He also had two blocked shots and two steals.

The Mustangs (19-9) got nine points and six assists from guard David Humphreys.

The Master’s shot only 43% from the field but held Fresno Pacific (10-18) to 32% field-goal shooting and out-rebounded the Sunbirds, 42-37.

Dennis Zink led Fresno Pacific with 15 points.

In a women’s game:

Whittier 84, Cal Lutheran 72--The Regals encountered a three-player wrecking crew in Whittier’s Kim Stumpf, Erika Williams and Erika Enomoto. Stumpf finished with a game-high 26 points and 21 rebounds, while Williams had 18 points and 19 rebounds and Enomoto 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Only five players scored for Cal Lutheran, which trailed, 47-32, at halftime. Nicole Albert had 21 points and Evelyn Albert 20.
