Former Crespi High quarterback Cody Smith has withdrawn from University of the Pacific and said he will try to land a scholarship at another four-year university.

Smith, who said he was released from his scholarship by Pacific, graduated from Crespi last year and spent less than a year at the Stockton school.

“I hated the town,” Smith said. “It just wasn’t the place for me. I felt like I wanted to try to play a little bigger-time football.”
